AFLAC On As Newest WUSA Partner; Foxboro To Host Title Game
AFLAC has signed on as the Official Supplemental Insurance Company of the WUSA for the remainder of the league' inaugural season. The deal includes rights to WUSA marks, ads and an AFLAC trivia question on each nationally televised game on TNT and CNN/SI, on-air billboards and graphics, branding on the Atlanta Beat uniforms, on-field signage, exposure on WUSA.com and sampling (WUSA).
FINAL IN FOXBORO: The WUSA announced that Foxboro Stadium will host the league's first championship game, to be held August 25 at 2:00pm ET. The game will be carried live by TNT (WUSA). USA TODAY's Christopher Lawlor writes "geography played a major role" in the move to put the game in Foxboro, as six of the league's eight teams are East Coast-based. The league is "optimistic it can fill the 22,000 seats of the stadium's lower bowl" (USA TODAY, 7/12).
