WEEKEND NIELSEN OVERNIGHTS: HOW THE NHL AND NBA FARED

     The following are preliminary ratings based on Nielsen's 33
metered markets for NHL and NBA weekend coverage.  All times are
EDT.  Fox's NHL games were Panthers-Flyers and Red Wings-Blues.
Of those markets,  Detroit was tops with a 16.6/33.  Sunday's
Bull-Knicks got a 32.1/61 in Chicago and a 19.1/35 in New York
(THE DAILY).
