ENTERTAINMENT & SPORTS TOGETHER AGAIN IN AZ SPORTS COMPLEX?

Michael Rubin, President of PA-based consulting firm
MRA Int'l, told members of a multi-city task force in
Phoenix's East Valley that the proposed National Sports
Center "would make an ideal venue for as many as a dozen"
     entertainment-based restaurants and retail outfits,
according to Paul Giblin in the MESA TRIBUNE. Giblin writes
that by "no small coincidence, Rubin is helping the NFL
develop its own line of theme restaurant and retail
outlets." NFL execs "previously said they would like to tie
those developments to a proposed domed facility" in the East
Valley and "foresee opening five to seven of the complexes
nationwide." The TRIBUNE's Giblin adds that the National
Sports Center "is envisioned as a combination sports venue
and convention facility," and would serve as a "home to the
     Cardinals" (MESA TRIBUNE, 7/23).
