INTERNET NEWS & NOTES: FOX SPORTS ONLINE LAUNCHES REDESIGN

Fox Sports Online has relaunched its Web site at
www.foxsports.com. Fox Sports Online VP Dan Greenberg told
THE DAILY this morning that included in the relaunch is a
greater emphasis on its TV component and personalities, with
"more and more faces" appearing daily and providing
features. Greenberg added, "We are certainly going to
promote our on-air talent more" (THE DAILY).
GOING FOR SPEED: Speedvision will team with Times
Mirror Interzines to create an official Web site around the
cable network. Using content from the site formerly known
as iRACE, the new site, at www.speedvision.com, will launch
on Monday. It will feature coverage of NASCAR, CART, the
IRL, NHRA, as well as motorcycle coverage of the FIM, AMA,
World Superbike and Arena series events. Speedvision said
the new site will also expand beyond motorsports coverage by
introducing consumer news and information, lifestyle
     features and aviation categories (Speedvision).
WHAT'S HOT, WHAT'S NOT: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's David
Sweet lists his "Hits and Misses" of sports on the Web.
Among his "Hits" are CBS SportsLine for "keeping the Michael
Jordan Web site lively" despite his retirement. Among his
"Misses" is MLB's Web site coverage of spring-training,
because the front page featured "only one story" and a click
on the spring-training graphic revealed one more story
"posted four days earlier" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/24).
