Daddy's Girl: Danica Unveils Go Daddy As New Primary Sponsor

Go Daddy Car's New Paint Scheme
Unveiled On ABC's "GMA" This Morning
Andretti Autosport today formally announced it has signed a three-year deal to keep Danica Patrick as the driver for the team’s No. 7 Izod IndyCar Series entry. The team also announced it has signed Go Daddy to serve as Patrick’s primary sponsor. Patrick’s new paint scheme was unveiled on ABC’s “GMA” this morning, and she said, "It's brand new. Go Daddy has been a part of this car for three years, but now we've got them as the primary sponsor, bright green." Patrick: "It's going to be a good year next year, especially with these bright colors. You're not going to miss me." Andretti Autosport co-Owner & Chair Michael Andretti was on hand to help pull the tarp off the car and reveal the paint scheme (“GMA,” ABC, 11/30). Patrick also plans to film her part in Go Daddy's Super Bowl XLIV commercials later this week (Go Daddy). Meanwhile, Andretti indicated that he is "close to wrapping up contracts" with his drivers for the '10 season after finalizing details around the recently-renamed Andretti Autosport team. In addition to Patrick, Andretti is expected to have cars for Tony Kanaan, Marco Andretti and possibly Ryan Hunter-Reay (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 11/27).

DROPPED CALL? Motorola had been Patrick's primary sponsor since she signed with then-named Andretti Green Racing in '07, and OPENPADDOCK.net's Doug Patterson notes the company is "no where to be seen” on Patrick’s new car. Patterson: "My question is, ‘Where did Motorola go?’ Did they simply leave the series, or will we see a Motorola/Boost-Mobile car elsewhere on the grid? They’re certainly not listed as one of Andretti Autosport’s sponsors. ... Whereas I’m happy to see a sponsor like GoDaddy.com step up to a primary role, I’m also bummed to see a long-time sponsor like Motorola go away” (OPENPADDOCK.net, 11/30).

NEWS & NOTES: In Indianapolis, Curt Cavin reported although "neither side has confirmed it, E.J. Viso is working to become the third IndyCar Series driver at Ganassi Racing in 2010." Viso spent the past two seasons with HVM Racing. He "would join two-time IndyCar champions Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon" at Ganassi Racing (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 11/27)....The Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and Pioneer have renewed their sponsorship for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 presented by Pioneer at Iowa Speedway (INDYCAR.com, 11/25).
