Emotions, Tears On Display During Jim Nantz' Divorce Trial

Testimony in the divorce trial of CBS announcer JIM NANTZ and his wife of 26 years, LORRIE, concluded last Friday, but not without "plenty of moments of drama," according to Daniel Tepfer of the STAMFORD ADVOCATE. Jim Nantz "teared up at times as he described his wife's foibles that he claims led up to the breakdown of their marriage." He contended that the marriage "ended as a result of his wife's lack of support for his career and her excessive spending." Nantz also admitted to having a 29-year-old girlfriend whom he met last year "while promoting his book, 'Always By My Side,' which he wrote about his now deceased father." Tepfer reported Nantz is "attempting to protect much of his $7[M]-plus a year earnings." He earns $3.9M annually from CBS as well as $4M in "deferred compensation, which includes money he gets as the 'voice' of Titleist golf products." Lorrie Nantz is looking for "alimony for herself and child support for their 15-year-old daughter, CAROLINE, in excess of $1.5[M] a year" (STAMFORD ADVOCATE, 10/18).
