Yankees Rebrand, Cut Price Of Some Premium Seats For Next Season

Yankees Stadium's Highest-Priced Legends
Suite Tickets Have Been Cut By $1,000
The Yankees next season are "cutting the price of some" premium seats and "rebranding them," according to Belson & Sandomir of the N.Y. TIMES. Next season, about 25% of the seats in the Legends Suite sections that "hug the field from the outfield to the dugout on both sides of the field will be called the Champions Suite." The seats "will cost between $300 and $500, if bought as part of full and 41-game season-ticket plans." The same seats as part of a 20-game package "will cost an extra $25." The 507 seats have cost $500 and $650 since the end of April, when they were reduced from an opening-day range of $500-1,000. Fans in the Champions Suite "will no longer have access to the Legends Club but will have in-seat waiter service and access to lounges along the first- and third-base lines." The highest-priced Legends Suite tickets "have also been cut to $1,500 from $2,500." The Yankees last month said that 84% of tickets in Yankees Stadium "would remain the same next year and another 13[%] would have their prices cut by about" 25% (N.Y. TIMES, 10/7).

ON THE RISE: The Brewers yesterday announced that ticket prices for games at Miller Park next season are "going up an average of 5.3%." The average ticket price in '10 will be $22.10, up from this year's average of $20.98. Individual game ticket prices "will remain at 2009 levels in some sections," including the club infield ($40) and club outfield ($36). But other seating areas "will see an increase of either $1 or $2." The team "decided not to change pricing for individual marquee game tickets next season." Marquee games "include all nine home games" against the Cubs, three games against the Twins and Opening Day. The Brewers also "decided to offer a $10 loge bleacher ticket for all non-marquee games in Section 238." Meanwhile, packages for new season-ticket holders "will remain at 2009 levels in the club infield and club outfield areas, while other seating categories will increase by no more than $2 per game" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/7).
