NASCAR Nationwide Series Seeing 8.3% Decline In TV Audience

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is averaging 2.031 million viewers through 27 telecasts across ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 this season, down 8.3% from 2.214 million viewers through the same point last season (26 races). ESPN2, which carries the majority of Nationwide Series races, is averaging 2.055 million viewers through 18 races, down 1.9% compared to 2.095 million viewers for 17 comparable races through the same point last season. ABC is averaging 2.271 million viewers for four races, down 23.3% from 2.962 million viewers for four races last year. ESPN's five races have averaged 1.743 million viewers, down 12.5% from 1.991 million viewers for the same number of races in '08 (THE DAILY).
