CBS Nearly 90% Sold For US Open Tennis Commercial Inventory

CBS Sports Exec VP/Sports Sales John Bogusz said that the net has sold nearly 90% of its US Open tennis "commercial inventory at an average, flat cost-per-thousand rate compared to last year," according to John Consoli of MEDIAWEEK. CBS will air 37 1/2 hours of match coverage of this year's tournament, and Bogusz said that there "has not been a large influx of new advertisers, but traditional sponsors like American Express and Lexus are back." Bogusz: "We are at a comparable sellout level to where we were last year at this point." Bogusz added that "small amounts of commercial inventory remain for all rounds, including the men's and women's semifinals and finals" (MEDIAWEEK.com, 8/26).
