Turnstile Tracker: MLS Attendance Off 3.6% Through August 24

MLS attendance is down 3.6% through August 24 but has made strides since the All-Star break, when attendance was off 5.5%. The expansion Sounders FC continue to lead the league at over 30,000 fans per game. Second-year club Toronto FC also continues to pack home games at BMO Field, as the venue has been filled to 101.5% capacity. Despite a strong record, the Fire are off 19.8% at Toyota Park and are one of six clubs seeing double-digit drops in average attendance. The chart below lists team-by-team attendance for MLS, with comparisons to the same period in '08 (THE DAILY).
