Major League Gaming Acquires Online Community Company Agora

Major League Gaming has acquired Agora Games, a New York-based developer of online communities devoted to videogaming. Agora will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of MLG and remain operating in its present location. Financial terms were not disclosed. Agora’s technology is used by several prominent game publishers for interactive functions such as gamer statistics, social interaction such as in-game messaging and user-generated content, and downloadable game features. “Cross-platform video game competition is what MLG is all about,” said MLG President & CEO Matthew Bromberg. “Coming together with Agora allows us to double down on our biggest strength.”
