Payne Leaving Post At
Bradley Center |
Bradley Center Sports & Entertainment Corp. Chair Ulice Payne Jr. yesterday said that he is "stepping down" from his post, according to Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Payne, who had been a BOD member since '98 and whose term as Chair expired June 30, said that the "time was right to make the change, especially because of his commitments to Addison-Clifton LLC, his consulting business, and his new role as chair-elect of the YMCA of the USA." Payne said that he "did not make a recommendation to the governor's office on a replacement," but added that "someone who is community-minded would be an ideal fit for the board." Walker writes Payne is "leaving the unpaid position at a time of great uncertainty for the Bradley Center." The facility is "aging," and as Payne "once famously put it, there was 'no juice' left in the building" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 7/30).
