In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports the USOC has hired MITCH POLL, a former director of corporate sponsorship for the NFL, as Managing Dir of Business Segments. Poll, who will work out of the USOC's N.Y. office, accepted an NFL buyout in February. Meanwhile, BrightLine iTV has hired 24/7 Media CMO MEG MEURER BROSSY as Senior VP/Business Development (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/27 issue).

EXECS: The Finish Line co-Founder DAVID KLAPPER has retired from the retailer's BOD, effective immediately (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 7/25)....ESPN Regional Television (ERT) has promoted Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Chief Marketing Dir BRANT RINGLER to Exec Dir, replacing TOM STARR, who resigned in May (ERT)....DePaul Univ. has hired former Chicago Tribune sports reporter BOB SAKAMOTO as Assistant SID/Media Relations. Sources confirmed that Sakamoto was let go from the newspaper in April (EXAMINER.com, 7/23)....The AHL Grand Rapids Griffins promoted KEVIN HUISMAN to Dir of Ticket Operations and hired CHAD ERWIN as Box Office Manager (Griffins).
