Taylor (l) Approves Of Kahn's Moves Since
Taking Over Basketball Operations Last Month |
T'Wolves Owner Glen Taylor yesterday said that he "fully approves" of the moves new T'Wolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn has made since taking over last month, including the drafting of G Ricky Rubio, according to Don Seeholzer of the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS. Taylor said of Kahn, "We brought him in to make changes and to re-evaluate the team. To have a new vision, a new look at it. That's what I asked him to do, and I think he is doing that. He's not laid-back. He's been very aggressive. ... I've been very satisfied with how he's worked with the staff." Taylor added the team's goal is to give Rubio and his Spanish team, DKV Joventut, "time to try to resolve their issues to work it out so he can be here this year." Taylor: "Without question, that's our No. 1 choice. But if because of his contract and his money problems he has to stay over there another year to get that resolved, that isn't something that we couldn't work with." Seeholzer writes that "could be a tough sell off the court, though, to fans who cheered the selection of Rubio on draft day." Taylor added that he "hasn't been involved in any conversations with Rubio" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 6/30).
LOST IN TRANSLATION: Rubio yesterday in a report in Barcelona's El Periodico newspaper said, "I have more uncertainty about my future now than before the draft; every minute I'm in a different place." Rubio: "It's like being in a bag and not knowing what is going up or down. For now, I think I may return to the [Spanish league], but we'll see." Meanwhile, T'Wolves F Kevin Love posted on Twitter, "How do I say, Ricky, please come to Minnesota, play PG for us. Please?" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 6/30).
