The People's Voice: DC United Wants Fan Input On New Stadium
MLS DC United last week sent an e-mail survey to fans looking for input in its "years-long search for a new stadium," according to Derek Kravitz of the WASHINGTON POST. The survey, also available on the team's Web site, asks fans to "rank their preferred location" between DC, Loudoun, Virginia, and Montgomery, Maryland. DC United VP/Communications Doug Hicks: "We're engaging fans for some thoughts on a few different municipalities. We're working toward a continued conversation with a few of those municipalities in the coming weeks." Team officials for years have "tried unsuccessfully to find a new home for its franchise," but the fan survey, expected to remain online through the end of this week, has "reignited discussion about the team's options" (WASHINGTON POST, 6/18).
