Cowboys Have Sold Out All Reserved Seats At New Stadium For '09

Jones (r) Says 90% Of Club Seats Have
Been Sold At New Cowboys Stadium
Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones yesterday said that all reserved seats in the new Cowboys Stadium are "sold out" for the '09 NFL season, according to Jeff Mosier of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Giving the "first update on ticket sales in about six months," Jones also said that 90% of club seats -- the 15,000 "closest to the field -- have been sold." Each club seat requires a PSL, which ranges from $16,000-150,000. Jones also said that he "expects about 25,000 to 30,000" standing-room only tickets to be available at $29 each for the September 20 home opener against the Giants. Cowboys officials previously said that they had sold about 85% of all seats in the new stadium, which is expected to have a capacity of around 80,000. Jones yesterday indicated the team's relocation to Arlington has "greatly boosted ticket sales" among fans in Tarrant County -- 5% of tickets at Texas Stadium went to Tarrant County residents, but that has increased 44% this season. In addition, Jones said that NBC, Fox and ESPN all will "show documentaries about the stadium when they broadcast their first Cowboys games at the new stadium." Meanwhile, Jones said that the team is cooperating with Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission investigators, who are looking into the drunken driving arrest of Cowboys Construction Manager & Stadium GM Jack Hill as a "possible violation of rules against employees being intoxicated at a licensed business" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 6/16).
