City of Arlington To Receive Free Suite At Cowboys Stadium

City Of Arlington Will Soon Have Its
Own Suite At New Cowboys Stadium
Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck said that the city "will soon have its own suite" at the new Cowboys Stadium and will be "given tickets for events there," according to Susan Schrock of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM. Cluck said that the suite "will be used for personal use by city officials and employees, but it will also be a useful tool for economic development." He added that the city will "allow nonprofit agencies to use the suite for events and raffles, just as it does with its suite at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington." Cluck also said that while the suite and events "will be free" to the city, "food and drinks won't" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 6/10).

REGULATING PARKING LOTS: In Dallas, Jeff Mosier reports many independent lots near Cowboys Stadium "could get reined in soon," as the Arlington City Council "approved an ordinance on first reading Tuesday to license entrepreneurial lots near" the stadium. City officials said that the regulations were created to "address concerns including neighborhood disruptions, traffic backups and public safety." The ordinance "would go into effect after a final vote June 23," and the council "could make some changes to the restrictions between the two votes." Mosier notes the ordinance "would shut down many but not all independent lots that opened last weekend" for the first event at the stadium (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 6/10).
