The D'Backs named Blue Jays Scout MIKE BERGER Dir of Player Development, replacing A.J. HINCH, who last month was named manager (D'Backs)....Former NFL Panthers Dir of Sponsor Sales & Services KYLE CADDELL has started his own firm, Synergy 5, which consults with MLB, NFL and NHL franchises. Caddell spent five years with the Panthers before leaving the franchise in January (CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/5 issue)....The Angels have fired Int'l Scouting Supervisor CLAY DANIEL, "apparently for his ties to baseball's probe into skimming of signing bonuses from Latin American players." Daniel had been with the team for nine years (OCREGISTER.com, 6/5)....MARLA OSTROFF has returned to Ticketmaster in the newly created position of Exec VP/National Accounts, based in N.Y. (Ticketmaster)....Learfield Sports named the Univ. of Maine's Black Bear Sports Properties (BBSP) GM MIKE MCCOLLUM to the same position for Army Sports Properties. Former BBSP Account Exec JUSTIN BARNES has been named BBSP GM (Learfield).
