PGA Tour To Highlight Charitable Causes In Special Airing Sunday
By Jon Show, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal
The PGA Tour, which is focusing more on publicizing its charitable efforts, will air a special this Sunday on CBS called “PGA Tour: Playing With a Purpose presented by Barclays.” The show, which will air from 1:30-2:30pm ET, will outline the Tour’s various charitable causes such as the First Tee, Phil Mickelson’s military outreach efforts and highlight a few charities supported by PGA Tour players such as Ernie Els and David Toms. Last month, the PGA Tour announced plans to promote its charity activities under a new marketing campaign tagged, “Together, Anything’s Possible.” Barclays is also title sponsor of the first event in the playoffs for the FedEx Cup.
