AEG's Tim Leiweke Honored In N.Y. For City Of Hope Award

AEG President & CEO TIM LEIWEKE was honored today in N.Y. by four pro sports commissioners at a breakfast recognizing his selection for City of Hope's Spirit of Life Award. The award is City of Hope's most prestigious philanthropic honor and recognizes individuals who have committed their time and resources to the comprehensive cancer center. Leiweke stood on stage for photos with NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL, NBA Commissioner DAVID STERN, NHL Commissioner GARY BETTMAN and MLS Commissioner DON GARBER. He said that he and AEG plan to raise more than $10M for City of Hope by hosting an April fundraising dinner at LA Live's Ritz Carlton Hotel with a special performance from Bon Jovi. Fox' "American Idol" and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE also agreed to donate $1 for every ticket sold from their respective tours. Leiweke: "We could not be more honored to be part of this. We're very devoted (to City of Hope)." Leiweke sat at a table with all four commissioners and Universal Music Group CEO DOUG MORRIS, who was last year's Spirit of Life Award recipient. Also in attendance from sports were NFL Special Assistant to the Commissioner PETE ABITANTE, SCP Worldwide Chair DAVE CHECKETTS, MLS President MARK ABBOTT and Soccer United Marketing President DOUG QUINN. In attendance from music and entertainment were DENNIS AFRA, founder of Artist Group Int'l; DAVE ZEDECK of CAA; and JAY MARCIANO, President of MSG Entertainment.
