Sparking Sales: Parker Continues To Have Top-Selling WNBA Jersey

WNBA Sparks F Candace Parker's No. 3 jersey ranked as the league's top-selling jersey in total dollar sales at the NBA Store in N.Y. and WNBAStore.com from October '08 through April '09, while the Sparks ranked as the top-selling team for WNBA merchandise during the same period. Parker's jersey sold more than any other WNBA rookie in history, and sales of her jersey have increased more than 100% over last year. Meanwhile, WNBAStore.com jersey sales have more than doubled over last year, and all WNBA merchandise is up 25% compared to the year-ago period (WNBA). ESPN's Michael Wilbon said, "Candace Parker is probably the most visible and known woman playing basketball today" ("PTI," ESPN, 5/27).
