Tony DiLeo Withdraws Name As 76ers
Coaching Candidate To Return To Front Office
Georgetown Univ. AD BERNARD MUIR has stepped down after four years to become Univ. of Delaware AD, succeeding EDGAR JOHNSON. Muir will begin his new job July 6 (WASHINGTON POST, 5/12)....76ers interim coach TONY DILEO yesterday withdrew his name from consideration to continue as coach. 76ers President & GM ED STEFANSKI said that DiLeo "requested a return to his front-office position" as Senior VP & Assistant GM (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 5/12)....Formation Group is consolidating its sports business with the management function passing to the head of its U.S.-based operations. LYLE YORKS has been named Managing Dir of Formation's sports business, and JAMES SKELLAND has been appointed Operations Manager of the sports division (CRAINSMANCHESTERBUSINESS.co.uk, 5/7).
