ESPNDeportes.com The Net's Latest Property To Undergo Relaunch

New Features On ESPNDeportes.com Include
Streamlined Design, Navigation Structure
ESPN tomorrow will relaunch ESPNDeportes.com, a move that follows many of the same measures undertaken for the January reworking of ESPN.com. New features to the media giant’s online Spanish-language hub include a streamlined design and navigation structure, a heightened emphasis on video content and social media features, new casual fantasy games, and sharply increased geotargeting for both advertising and content. “We have deployed a lot of ESPN.com resources, personnel and technology behind this effort, but this is not a carbon copy. We have infused our own special flavor into this,” said ESPNDeportes.com Senior Dir Carlos Caban. “We’re not only doing a redesign, but really deploying a whole new set of products.” On deck for June is an interactive application entitled “The Greatest Soccer Team of All Time,” in which fans will pick, share and debate self-selected all-time dream teams within the sport. The site primarily serves five distinct regions: the U.S.; Mexico and Central America; portions of Argentina, Uruguay & Paraguay; Columbia, Peru, Ecuador & Chile; and Venezuela and the Caribbean. For the U.S.-geotargeted version of the site, Ford is signed on as a charter advertiser. Toyota will sponsor a new fan profiles section that represents a key part of the social media buildout on the site.
