Birmingham, Richmond Track Biggest MM Ratings Gains For Derby
Louisville once again led all metered markets with a 35.5 local rating for NBC's telecast of the race segment of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, which was down 2.0% from its mark last year. Richmond, which played host to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Crown Royal presents the Russ Friedman 400 on Saturday night, saw ratings in the market jump 60% from a year ago, placing the market fourth overall after finishing last year ranked 23rd. Birmingham saw the biggest gain, up 64%, while Miami-Ft. Lauderdale was down 31% for the biggest drop. The chart below lists a Nielsen metered-market ratings trend for NBC's telecast of the race segment of the Kentucky Derby from 6:00-7:00pm ET (THE DAILY).
