HighSchoolSports.net's Frank Garland Leaves Company
By Eric Fisher, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal
HighSchoolSports.net COO FRANK GARLAND has left the Gannett-owned company, effective at the end of April. The media giant bought the site for $14M in October '07, and the prep sports hub was part of a recent corporate reorganization of all of Gannett’s digital properties that will create the Gannett Digital Media Network along with more than 100 other sites and a combined reach of more than 25 million people. “I’m pleased with what we were able to accomplish. This is one of the 20 leading sports sites out there (in monthly traffic),” Garland said. “Gannett is going to bring a lot of resources to bear with this going forward.” Garland has not determined his next professional step, but intends to stay in sports.
