Ainge Expected To Make Full Recovery
From Thursday's Mild Heart Attack
Celtics Exec Dir of Basketball Operations & GM Danny Ainge is "resting comfortably at Massachusetts General Hospital" after suffering a mild heart attack Thursday morning (BOSTON HERALD, 4/17). Ainge awoke with chest pains after missing Wednesday's regular-season finale and was admitted to the hospital, where he "had a clogged artery relieved by a stent." He likely will miss Saturday's playoff game against the Bulls, but is "expected to make a full recovery" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/17). ESPN's Ric Bucher reported Ainge is "probably going to spend a couple more days in the hospital, but that is simply to be safe." Bucher: "Danny is probably one of the more fit GMs around the league so it really caught a lot of people off-guard” (ESPNews, 4/16).

PACKING A PUNCH: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's John Jurgensen writes the new documentary "TYSON," due out next Friday, "bluntly portrays the rocky path" of boxer MIKE TYSON's career, and also "illustrates how documentaries can function as star vehicles for their subjects." In the film, the "most damning testimony comes from the subject himself." The documentary essentially is an "extended monologue by the boxer, interspersed with archival news clips, interviews and footage from his fights" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/17).

ROAD TRIP: Four Philadelphia-area filmmakers -- TRAVIS GREENE, JOEY SEAGRAVES, PEDRO CUNILLERA and GLENN COATES -- this summer will visit all 30 MLB ballparks in 30 days, documenting the road trip with plans to "turn it into a film." Proceeds from the DVD will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 4/17).

CHARITY STRIPE: Bruins D ANDREW FERENCE will donate half of his NHL Playoff bonus to the New England Grass Roots Environment Fund's Boston Grant Initiative (BOSTON HERALD, 4/17)....Broncos S BRIAN DAWKINS at Thursday night's NFLPA gala in DC was awarded the Byron "Whizzer" White award for his community work throughout Philadelphia while a member of the Eagles (AP, 4/17).

NAMES: NFL agent DAVID CANTER Thursday paid $60,000 to settle a South Carolina state investigation into claims that he operated in the state without a license. Canter must also report to the state's Department of Consumer Affairs "every month for the next two years outlining his dealings with athletes in the state" (Columbia STATE, 4/17)....HFV Asset Management Managing Dir BARRETT WISSMAN, whose company manages money for Chiefs owners the HUNT family, Tuesday pleaded guilty to securities fraud (N.Y. TIMES, 4/15)....Univ. of Kentucky men's basketball coach JOHN CALIPARI bought a home in Lexington, as well as a vacant lot next door. While details of the sale were not disclosed, the asking price for the nearly 10,000-square-foot house was $2.29M, and the lot was on sale for $550,000 (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 4/17)....Golfer JACK NICKLAUS and his wife, BARBARA, will receive Indiana's Pathfinder awards for their contributions to youth sports (AP, 4/16).
