The Sportsman Channel (TSC) named WILLY BURKHARDT President, effective immediately. TSC co-Founder MICHAEL COOLEY will become Chair, with both Burkhardt and Cooley reporting to InterMedia Outdoors CEO JEFF PARO. Burkhardt has spent most of his career in the media and entertainment industry, including five years at ESPN as Exec VP and BOD member where he was responsible for all of ESPN’s business activities outside the U.S. (TSC).

EXECS: The WPS Washington Freedom named MARK WASHO President & GM, replacing JOSEPH QUINN. Most recently, Washo was President of the ticket sales services company he founded, MMW Marketing Sports & Entertainment. Prior to that, he served as MLS Chicago Fire Exec VP (WPS)….The Indiana Sports Corp. elected JOSEPH DEGROFF Chair (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 3/25)....Former French Prime Minister JEAN-PIERRE RAFFARIN has been appointed to a six-member VANOC advisory committee on official languages and will attend his first meeting next month (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/25)….Speed Skating Canada (SSC) announced Program Dir FINN HALVORSEN has left the organization. In a statement, SSC said Halvorsen left due to “differences in management and leadership between himself and Speed Skating Canada” (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/25)....WAYNE BOLT was named Dir of Football Relations at Auburn Univ. Previously, Bolt was defensive coordinator at Iowa State under current Auburn football coach GENE CHIZIK (Auburn).
