Brewers File Three Lawsuits Over Miller Park Nonpayments

Brewers File Three Lawsuits In Five Days Over
Miller Park Suite Fees, Restroom Advertising
Milwaukee and Waukesha County court documents indicated that the Brewers have "filed three lawsuits in the past five days for nonpayment of Miller Park suite fees and for advertising placed in ballpark restrooms," according to Rohne & Taschler of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. In one lawsuit, the Brewers sued Chicago-based marketing firm In Stadium, "seeking more than $86,000." The team on August 1 sent an invoice to the firm, which has had a contract with the team to place ads in Miller Park restrooms since '04, "for $33,000 but has not been paid." The suit alleged that In Stadium is "obligated to pay a base fee for the 2009 season plus $2,000 for each 100,000 attendees over 1.7 million," and it claims that In Stadium "owes the club $26,000 under another section of the agreement." In Stadium has "notified the club that it can't perform its obligations under the agreement and will make no payments" for the '09 season. The Brewers have also filed suit against Wisconsin-based Big League Promotions & Marketing LLC, "claiming nonpayment of Miller Park suite fees." The team last Wednesday also filed suit against an Illinois man, "alleging he failed to make $15,750 in payments for use of a luxury suite at the ballpark" for the '09 season (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 3/24).
