LeBron's King's Academy Summer Basketball
Camp Will Be Held In San Diego This Year |
Cavaliers F LEBRON JAMES has relocated his King's Academy summer basketball camp from Cleveland to San Diego. King's Academy co-Dir DAMON HALEY said that the move was "only meant to give West Coast kids a shot." But the camp has "helped arrange flights and hotels for Ohio families who've signed their kids up anyhow" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/17).
KNOCKED OUT: Boxing promoter FRANK WARREN yesterday was ordered to pay boxer JOE CALZAGHE US$2.8M in unpaid fees relating to his bout last April against BERNARD HOPKINS. A judge also dismissed Warren's claim for US$1.4M from Calzaghe, who retired last month (LONDON TIMES, 3/17).
BOOK SHELF: CBS' SETH DAVIS has released a new book about the Michigan State-Indiana State '79 NCAA Division 1 men's basketball championship game, featuring Basketball HOFers MAGIC JOHNSON and LARRY BIRD, titled "WHEN MARCH WENT MAD: THE GAME THAT TRANSFORMED BASKETBALL."
