LeBron's King's Academy Summer Basketball
Camp Will Be Held In San Diego This Year
Cavaliers F LEBRON JAMES has relocated his King's Academy summer basketball camp from Cleveland to San Diego. King's Academy co-Dir DAMON HALEY said that the move was "only meant to give West Coast kids a shot." But the camp has "helped arrange flights and hotels for Ohio families who've signed their kids up anyhow" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/17).

KNOCKED OUT: Boxing promoter FRANK WARREN yesterday was ordered to pay boxer JOE CALZAGHE US$2.8M in unpaid fees relating to his bout last April against BERNARD HOPKINS. A judge also dismissed Warren's claim for US$1.4M from Calzaghe, who retired last month (LONDON TIMES, 3/17).

BOOK SHELF: CBS' SETH DAVIS has released a new book about the Michigan State-Indiana State '79 NCAA Division 1 men's basketball championship game, featuring Basketball HOFers MAGIC JOHNSON and LARRY BIRD, titled "WHEN MARCH WENT MAD: THE GAME THAT TRANSFORMED BASKETBALL." In Toronto, Garth Woolsey wrote Davis "has spared no effort in uncovering all the details and covering all the angles in what amounts to a fascinating read" (TORONTO STAR, 3/15)....Author ALLEN BARRA is releasing a new biography titled, "YOGI BERRA," while author MICHAEL D'ANTONIO is publishing a new book on the life of late Dodgers Owner WALTER O'MALLEY titled, "FOREVER BLUE." Also, BRUCE WEBER will release "AS THEY SEE 'EM," a book about MLB umpires (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/16)....Blazers and Seahawks Owner PAUL ALLEN is writing a book, though the topic is unclear (BUSINESSINSIDER.com, 3/16).

NAMES: The Jackie Robinson Foundation held its annual dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan last night, hosted by BILL COSBY. The dinner honored ABC's ROBIN ROBERTS and actor ROBERT REDFORD, among others (MLB.com, 3/16)....Reebok Founder PAUL FIREMAN is in talks to invest $33M in L.A.-based Hudson Jeans (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/17)....Former 49ers and Browns President CARMEN POLICY and his wife GAIL this spring will start selling their new private label wine, Casa Piena. Policy "aims to sell a modest 200 cases this year" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 3/16).

BEST WISHES: AP football writer DAVE GOLDBERG recently underwent triple bypass surgery. SI.com's Peter King wrote Goldberg is "one of the classics, a guy who can converse on 946 subjects quite well, with only one of them happening to be pro football" (SI.com, 3/16).
