Duke Radio Network men's basketball play-by-play announcer BOB HARRIS, who has called the team's games since '76, Friday received the annual MARVIN "SKEETER" FRANCIS Award by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. The award honors "outstanding contributors to coverage of ACC sports" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 3/14).

PAYING TRIBUTE: The Penguins prior to last night's game against the Bruins showed a video tribute to Penguins Senior Adviser of Hockey Operations EDDIE JOHNSTON for his "25 years with the club," which also included stints as GM and coach. Penguins C SIDNEY CROSBY presented Johnston's wife, DIANE, with flowers, while co-Owner MARIO LEMIEUX presented Johnston with a crystal penguin (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 3/16).

Hart previously served as the AD for both the Univ. of Louisville and Univ. of Missouri, and was the Univ. of Pittsburgh's head football coach. Hart most recently was a consultant to Univ. of North Carolina-Asheville athletics (AP, 3/15).
