Filmmakers Developing Sports Comedy Film Based On Lacrosse

Strahan Set To Star In New Fox
Comedy Series Called "Brothers" |
Director Steve Rash and producers Mitchell Peck, Adam Leff and J. Todd Harris are set to develop "Crooked Arrows," an "underdog sports comedy set in the world of lacrosse," according to Borys Kit of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The three producers are "finalizing financing and sponsorships for a late-summer shoot in the Northeast." They "already have lined up endorsements from Major League Lacrosse, the National Lacrosse League, US Lacrosse and LaxFestUSA." The producers "also are talking to sports brands, colleges and prep schools." The film "will have a Native American angle, with the story set on an upstate New York reservation" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 3/16).
COMEDY SHOW: DAILY VARIETY's Michael Schneider reports Fox' Michael Strahan is "set to star in the laffer pilot 'Brothers,' which Fox greenlit on Friday." Sony Pictures TV and Tantamount "are behind the project." The comedy "will star Strahan as a retired NFL player who returns to his hometown and starts working to reconnect with his family" (DAILY VARIETY, 3/16).
