Veteran sports facility designer RON TURNER has joined the Santa Monica, California, office of architecture firm Gensler, according to company officials. Turner most recently was at L.A.-based RTKL before that firm eliminated its sports practice late in '08. Turner's career includes starting sports divisions at Ellerbe Becket and NBBJ. Gensler's sports projects include the A's proposed ballpark and mixed-use development in Fremont, California (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal).
