NBA Attendance Up 1.2%; 76ers, Pacers Seeing Double-Digit Increases
The NBA is averaging 17,272 fans per game through February 3, up 1.2% from the same period a year ago. Teams in the Eastern Conference are averaging 17,471 fans per game, slightly off from a year ago. After finishing last season last in the conference, the Heat are currently fifth in the standings, but are down 9.8% at the gate for their 24 home games. On the flip side, both the 76ers and Pacers have losing records, but are seeing gains in attendance, up 12.6% and 10.4%, respectively, from a year ago. The Hawks are also seeing attendance gains at Philips Arena, up 6.5%. The chart below details NBA Eastern Conference attendance through February 3, with comparisons to the same period a year ago.
