The MLB Giants promoted BOBBY EVANS to VP/Baseball Operations and JEREMY SHELLEY to Senior Dir of Baseball Operations/Pro Scouting (Giants). In S.F., Henry Schulman wrote both execs are “young and definitely hold a modern view of player development and acquisition. Shelley is a big ‘numbers’ guy whose influence only grows” as GM BRIAN SABEAN “seems to embrace Sabermetrics more than he has in the past” (SFGATE.com, 2/3)….The AHL Chicago Wolves named MIKE GORDON VP/Partnerships. Most recently, Gordon was VP/Sales for the AFL Chicago Rush (Wolves).
EXECS: Tennis Week Magazine appointed TIM HEATH Publisher, effective immediately. Heath will report to IMG Publishing VP LEE ROSENBAUM. Previously, Heath was President of the USTA Eastern section (TENNISWEEK.com, 2/3)….Vail Resorts announced JOE MICHELETTO has retired as Chair. The Vail Resorts BOD will choose a new Chair at its next meeting in March (DENVER POST, 2/3)....Learfield Sports announced BRIAN SINES has joined Hawkeye Sports Properties for the Univ. of Iowa, BILL ATKINS has joined Bulldog Sports Properties for Mississippi State Univ. as an Account Exec and MATT FIRESTONE joins Hurricane Sports Properties for the Univ. of Miami (Learfield).
