NASCAR VP/Broadcasting & Int'l Managing Dir ROBBIE WEISS is hospitalized in Charlotte for treatment of a brain aneurysm he suffered last Thursday. NASCAR officials said Weiss, who joined the sanctioning body in '01, is recovering in the intensive care unit at Presbyterian Hospital. "Robbie has been making great progress every day, and we are thankful and encouraged with the progress we are seeing,” NASCAR said in a statement. There is no word on Weiss’ prognosis or return and the family asked that no further information be released. Weiss, 38, reports to NASCAR Media Group President PAUL BROOKS and manages the day-to-day relationships with the sport's broadcasters, both domestically and internationally.
