AEG Names Glenn Grabski Dir Of Booking For Charlotte's TWC Arena

Grabski's Arrival Follows Bobcats-AEG Deal
To Help Arena Schedule Non-NBA Events
AEG Facilities has hired GLENN GRABSKI as Dir of Booking for Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena, which is operated by the Bobcats. Grabski was most recently event and Finance Manager for The Wiggles Live USA, responsible for negotiating arena contracts and promoting and marketing 150 performances annually for the profitable family show tour. The announcement on Grabski comes one year after L.A.-based AEG and the Bobcats agreed to a multi-year contract for AEG to schedule non-NBA events at the building. In the past 12 months, Bobcats Senior VP/Arena Operations DONNA JULIAN has been working closely with AEG Facilities VP ERIC BRESLER to book events. Grabski reports to Julian. The next step is to hire an AEG Facilities marketing official who will report to Grabski, said Bobcats Sports & Entertainment President & COO FRED WHITFIELD. “We have been very deliberate in these hires because we want to make sure we have the right people,” Whitfield said. Under AEG’s tutelage, Time Warner Cable Arena has booked The Eagles, AC/DC, BILLY JOEL/ELTON JOHN and Fleetwood Mac, four high-profile concerts that the facility may not have secured without the AEG deal, Whitfield said. AEG Live, the company’s event promotion division, and its chief competitor, Live Nation, have shared financial risk to promote dates on those four tours. “The whole impetus behind getting AEG was to be in the hunt to get these big shows,” Whitfield said. “We still want to be an open venue (for all promoters) and that’s why Live Nation is critically important to us as well.”
