Fila has formally announced an endorsement deal with ATP World Tour member James Blake in which the No. 10-ranked player will exclusively wear Fila apparel and footwear on-court and be featured in Fila's worldwide marketing. Blake also will collaborate with Fila designers to create a yet-to-be-named co-branded collection, to be unveiled before the '09 U.S. Open and officially launch for the spring/summer '10 season. The collection will include tennis, golf, fitness and lifestyle apparel (Fila). A Fila spokesperson said that the prices and distribution of the collection "have not yet been determined." WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY's Jean Palmieri noted Blake is the "first top 10 American male in more than 10 years to sign with Fila" (WWD.com, 1/15).
