Modell's Sporting Goods today announced that Exec VP/Merchandising Marketing & Allocations SETH HOROWITZ has been promoted to President of the company. Horowitz' expanded responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of business operations, including merchandising, marketing, store management, distribution center, IT, HR and finance. Horowitz has been with the company for one year (Modell's Sporting Goods).
FRANCHISES: Chip Ganassi Racing VP/Partnership Marketing Chris Weiller has left the team to pursue other opportunities. Weiller, a former Bobcats executive, had been with Ganassi since '06 (Michael Smith, SportsBusiness Journal)....49ers Dir of PR AARON SALKIN has left the team after four seasons. Salkin described his departure as "mutual." Salkin: "It's time. It was a good run. I enjoyed the hell out of it" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 1/6)....Single-A California League Inland Empire 66ers GM LOREN FOXX has resigned after two seasons with the team to join the Double-A Eastern League New Hampshire Fisher Cats as VP/Marketing, effective yesterday (Riverside PRESS-ENTERPRISE, 1/6)....The ECHL Victoria Salmon Kings promoted Dir of Media & Community Relations and play-by-play announcer JEFF HARRIS to Assistant GM (Salmon Kings).
