SMG Reliant Park President Shea Guinn Hired By IMG College
IMG has hired former SMG exec SHEA GUINN for its IMG College division, IMG spokesman JIM GALLAGHER confirmed yesterday. Guinn was most recently SMG's Senior VP/Stadiums and President of Reliant Park in Houston. Guinn previously served as Exec Dir of the Harris County Sports & Convention Corp., the group that helped develop Reliant Stadium and Minute Maid Park. IMG College is a collegiate marketing, licensing and media company, with 15 NCAA Division I clients and four conference accounts (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal). Guinn, who declined to discuss his new position, said that he was "confident that his former colleagues at Reliant Park can deal with pressing issues such as repairs of Hurricane Ike-related damage to Reliant Stadium." Guinn: "I worked (at Reliant) with a great team, and I feel comfortable they won't skip a beat. It was a great experience, and now I've had a great opportunity presented to me" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 1/6).
