Top-Ranked Jelena Jankovic Signs With IMG For Representation

Jankovic, Previously Repped By IMG,
Worked With Octagon From '05-08
IMG and the sports, entertainment and media company’s model management firm, IMG Models, has signed the world’s No. 1-ranked women’s tennis player, JELENA JANKOVIC, for exclusive worldwide representation in marketing and management. "IMG is a global company and a leader not only in tennis, but entertainment, fashion and modeling as well,” Jankovic said in a statement. “I'm very excited to partner with IMG and look forward to working with them on a variety of exciting tennis, marketing and endorsement opportunities." Jankovic's tennis management team at IMG will be led by CAROLINE LACY out of IMG London. FERNANDO SOLER, Head of IMG’s Tennis Division, said, “We are extremely pleased to add a player of Jelena’s caliber to the list of great champions we represent. Her reputation, both on and off the court is unparalleled.” IMG Models Senior VP IVAN BART added, “We are equally pleased to have Jelena join our roster of celebrity clients." Jankovic had formerly been represented by IMG, but left IMG for Octagon in '05. Her deal with Octagon was up for renewal at the end of '08 and she chose to return to IMG after undergoing an agency selection process, according to a source, who added that IMG’s expertise in representing top models was attractive to the tennis player. Octagon agent ALASTAIR GARLAND, who led Jankovic’s representation team at Octagon, said in a statement,“We leave Jelena in top shape business-wise and tennis-wise. Though we differed in how to approach the marketplace for 2009, we wish her every success and continued good luck."
