Fox Earns 14.3/27 Overnight Rating

Each of the NFL's Sunday network partners carried games with playoff implications yesterday. On CBS' national telecast in the 1:00pm ET window, the featured matchup, which saw the Patriots defeat the Bills 13-0, earn the net a 12.1/25 overnight Nielsen rating, up 39.1% from an 8.7/17 rating last year, when Steelers-Ravens was the featured matchup in the 4:15pm ET window. For regional coverage in the late window, which included Dolphins-Jets in 88% of U.S. markets, CBS earned a 9.7/19 overnight rating. On Fox, the late-window telecast at 4:15pm ET, which featured the Eagles knocking off the Cowboys for the final playoff spot, earned a 14.3/27 overnight rating. Last night's "Sunday Night Football” game on NBC, which saw the Chargers win the AFC West title and eliminate the Broncos from playoff contention, earned a 10.6/17 overnight rating, down 7.9% from an 11.6/19 rating for Titans-Colts in Week 17 last season. With the Chargers up 24-6 by halftime, the game peaked at an 11.6/18 rating in the 9:00-9:30pm ET window. The 10.6/17 also marks the third consecutive week that "SNF" was tops among all primetime shows in the overnights (THE DAILY).
