CBS To Cover High School Hoops Tourney On Multiple Platforms
By Eric Fisher, SportsBusiness Journal
CBS this afternoon will announce multi-platform coverage of the T-Mobile Invitational high school basketball tournament, scheduled for December 29-30 on the campus of Ball State Univ. A premier prep event featuring schools from the National Federation of State High School Associations, the tournament will have all eight games shown live on the CBS College Sports Network, a one-hour special slated to air January 18 on CBS, and an extensive series of on-demand replays and other coverage on MaxPreps.com. The broadcast TV portion of the coverage, acting as a lead-in to the network's coverage of the AFC Championship Game later that day, is new this year. "High-school basketball is obviously becoming much more popular among all basketball fans, and we see this as a big showcase of MaxPreps' ability to cover the nation," said MaxPreps President Andy Beal. "We're definitely looking to take advantage of this kind of exposure."
