Sounders Debut New Uniforms In "Fashion Week-Style" Unveiling

Sounders Merchandise, Including Jerseys, Now
On Sale On Team's Web Site, At Qwest Field
MLS Seattle Sounders FC Thursday night at the WaMu Theater next to Qwest Field unveiled the team's "rave green jerseys" as part of a "Fashion Week-style unveiling" of the club's uniforms and apparel, according to Jose Miguel Romero of the SEATTLE TIMES. Sounders Minority Owner Drew Carey "provided the laughs," while Sounders announcer Kevin Calabro "added his wit to the presentation as models, local celebrities and Sounders FC players strutted their stuff on the catwalk in team colors." The home uniform features the "rave green jersey with 'Sounders Blue' shorts," while the road uniform features "blue jerseys with rave green shorts." Both the home and the road jerseys were "prominently featuring the team's main sponsor, Microsoft Xbox 360 Live, on the front and made by Adidas." Meanwhile, Carey sported a "'Cascade-shale'-colored rain coat," with "shale sweat outfits, a white training top and cap, a rave green hooded sweat shirt and more on display." A curtain "off to one side of the models runway was pulled back to reveal a stand selling the merchandise that was in the show." Products on display at the show are now on sale on the team's Web site and at the Qwest Field Pro Shop, and proceeds from the event benefited Seattle's Children's Hospital (SEATTLE TIMES, 12/5).

NEW LOOK UP NORTH: The CP reported MLS Toronto FC Thursday night unveiled its new jersey, "adding a subtly embossed Maple Leaf to the front among other tweaks." The home jersey "remains red with slightly different grey and black trim," and a Maple Leaf flag is "added to the upper left arm and the team motto 'All for One' is printed on the back of the collar." The away jersey is "grey, without a collar, and has the motto printed on the shoulder." This marks the "first time Toronto FC has changed its uniform since its inception two years ago" (CP, 12/4).
