Nets Will Make 300 Tickets Available To Five
Games For Fans Who Register For Program |
Nets President & CEO Brett Yormark yesterday said that the team, as a result of the current economic crisis, will give "unemployed fans who submit their resumes to the Nets Job bank up to four free tickets, plus access" to a November 22 career fair at the Izod Center, according to David Waldstein of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. The team also will "distribute applicants' resumes to its sponsors." Yormark: "Hopefully they'll come out and experience the Nets, and then when times get better they'll invest in us, because we invested in them. No other team is doing that, and I think it's the appropriate thing to do, because times are tough." The Nets will make 300 tickets available to those who register for the program for each of five selected home games at the Izod Center. The team also "offers a plan in which fans get a Dunkin' Donuts certificate along with the tickets," and it will unveil a holiday plan in which fans can "get a certificate to Toys 'R' Us." Meanwhile, the Devils for home games at the Prudential Center are offering "reduced prices for tickets and food" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 11/12).
JERSEY BOYS: The NLL N.Y. Titans this season will play five of their seven home games at the Prudential Center, in addition to their normal home games at MSG. The Titans also plan to "provide instruction and equipment" to Newark-area schools as "part of a community outreach project" (AP, 11/11).
