Fulmer To Receive Full $6M Buyout,
Negotiating Payment Schedule
In Memphis, Edwards & Hooker report Univ. of Tennessee (UT) football coach PHIL FULMER, who yesterday announced he will step down at the end of this season, will receive his entire $6M buyout. Fulmer and UT AD MIKE HAMILTON "are negotiating a timeline for payment that would extend past the 48 months stipulated in Fulmer's contract." Hamilton said that UT has $7M in "cash reserves that could be used to cover Fulmer's buyout, which is to be doled out in monthly installments." Edwards & Hooker note UT's assistant coaches "also are entitled to buyouts if they are not retained" (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 11/4).

TRUMP CARD: In London, Mark Macaskill reported DONALD TRUMP's proposed $792.8M golf resort in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, "is to be given the go-ahead by the Scottish government, despite environmental concerns." The action is "expected to include relocating a number of holes and a compromise on the number of holiday homes to be built." Trump "wants to build two championship golf courses, a five-star, 450-bedroom hotel, 960 timeshare apartments and 500 private houses on a three-mile stretch of coastline" (LONDON TIMES, 11/2).

MOVIE BUFFS: In DC, Tom Heath reported Redskins owner DAN SNYDER, NVR Inc. Chair DWIGHT SCHAR and Six Flags CEO MARK SHAPIRO are listed as exec producers of actor TOM CRUISE's new film, "VALKYRIE." The listing means the three "have invested in the film, which is based on the true story about a group of German military officers who plotted to kill Hitler toward the end of" WWII. Heath: "There could be a big windfall coming Snyder's way" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 11/3).

NAMES: Canadian IOC member DICK POUND will be named Sunday "as honorary lieutenant-colonel of the Canadian Grenadier Guards reserve infantry battalion" (CP, 11/4)....T'Wolves G MIKE MILLER "plans to invest substantially and start an AAU summer basketball program in the Twin Cities" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 10/31)....Former U.S. Olympic skier PICABO STREET on October 25 married JOHN REESER in a ceremony on top of Prospect Mountain in Alabama. BEST WISHES: Magic Owner RICH DEVOS suffered two broken ribs after “taking a nasty fall” last week at his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. DeVos is “in good condition” (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 11/4).
