COURT TV: WGN-TV averaged a 6.9/10.8 rating for Tuesday's season-opening Bucks-Bulls game, the "highest Nielsen numbers for a Bulls game aired on the station since January 2005." Viewership for the game peaked at a 9.1/15. The telecast ranked No. 1 in primetime in the Chicago market for all male demos, as well as adults 18-34 and 18-49 (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 10/31)....MSG earned a 1.45 HH rating from 7:30-10:15pm ET for Wednesday's season-opening Heat-Knicks game, marking a 101.4% increase over a 0.72 for last year's T'Wolves-Knicks home opener (MSG).
FILLY FANATICS: Last Saturday's broadcast of the early Breeders' Cup races on ABC, marking the first time the net has aired coverage of the event, averaged 1.6 million viewers from 1:00-3:30pm ET. The broadcast moved over to ESPN from 3:30-7:15pm ET for the final races, and the net averaged 1.2 million viewers. For the Breeders' Cup classic from 6:15-7:15pm ET, ESPN averaged a 1.0 cable rating, flat with the rating for last year's race, which aired on the net from 5:13-6:08pm ET. On Friday afternoon, ESPN2 averaged 356,000 viewers for its Breeders' Cup coverage from 3:30-6:30pm (THE DAILY).
WHERE HAVE ALL THE COWBOYS GONE? KDFW-Fox earned a 28.5 rating in Dallas-Ft. Worth for last Sunday's Buccaneers-Cowboys game, marking the "second lowest-rated game of the season" for the Cowboys, behind a 25.1 for the October 19 Cowboys-Rams game (DALLASNEWS.com, 10/28).
