BENNIE LOOPER has announced he will leave the Mariners organization. Looper served as VP/Player Personnel under previous GM BILL BAVASI and was asked to "remain with the organization" by new GM JACK ZDURIENCIK, but not in the same position. Looper was “offered the chance to do pro scouting” while losing his VP title (SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER, 10/30)....The Nationals named DEVON WHITE Special Assistant in Player Development and PAT CORRALES Special Consultant to GM JIM BOWDEN (Nationals).

GOLF: The PGA of America will swear in VP JIM REMY on November 8 as its new President, succeeding BRIAN WHITCOMB (THE DAILY).….CHRIS TUTEN was promoted to Dir of Outside Operations on the PGA Tour for the Acushnet Company, which includes the Titleist, Foot-Joy and Cobra brands. Previously, Tuten was Cobra Dir of PGA Tour Promotions where he helped Cobra make a big return to the Tour by signing PGAers CAMILO VILLEGAS, J.B. HOLMES, IAN POULTER and KEVIN NA (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 10/30).
