Blog Hound: Game Five Conclusion, Celebrations The No. 1 Topics

Over the past 24 hours, the sports blogosphere was dominated by the Phillies winning the '08 World Series over the Rays, with discussion divided between the Phillies 4-3 win in the suspended Game Five and the unruly celebration that followed the game in Philadelphia. Beyond the World Series, much attention was given to reports PGA Tour player John Daly was taken by police from a Hooters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, early Sunday morning because he was described as "intoxicated and uncooperative.” Trail Blazers C Greg Oden remained in the top five after reports that he will be out for the next 2-4 weeks because of the foot sprain he suffered in Tuesday night's Blazers-Lakers game. Also discussed was the Argentine Football Association hiring Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona to coach the men’s national soccer team, with bloggers questioning Maradona's limited coaching experience and past drug problems. The video of the leg injury suffered by Univ. of Houston WR Patrick Edwards during Tuesday night's Houston-Marshall game rounded out the top five.
