TNT Earns 1.9 Cable Rating For 
NBA Opening Night Doubleheader
TNT for its NBA Opening Night doubleheader Tuesday featuring Cavaliers-Celtics and Trail Blazers-Lakers earned a 1.9 cable rating and 2.6 million viewers, up 12% and 29%, respectively, from last season's Opening Night doubleheader on the net, which featured Trail Blazers-Spurs and Rockets-Lakers. The doubleheader also delivered over 22% growth in all key adult and male demos (THE DAILY).

PRICE HIKE: Mediacom Communications Dir Phyllis Peters said that Mediacom customers in Iowa "will pay an additional $4 a month" for the MSO's expanded basic cable package, which features the Big Ten Network, while customers in "Missouri and areas of Minnesota where the Big Ten Network won't be available will pay an extra $3 per month" for the service. But in Des Moines, Tom Witosky noted Peters "stopped short of saying the agreement between the cable provider and the Big Ten network called for a $1 charge per subscriber each month." The price increase "will go into effect during the final 10 days of November" (DES MOINES REGISTER, 10/29).

BACK WITH THE PACK: In Green Bay, Warren Gerds reports Time Warner Cable (TWC) and LIN TV yesterday reached an agreement allowing WLUK-Fox to return to TWC's lineup in both digital and HD formats. Sunday's Packers-Titans game will be carried on WLUK. The agreement "affects about 150,000 Time Warner subscribers" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 10/30).

RUNNING WILD: FSN North, KSTC-IND, Charter Communications and the Wild have partnered to broadcast Wild games aired in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market on KSTC to outer-market areas in southern Minnesota, including the cities of Rochester, Mankato, Austin and Albert Lea. The agreement begins with tonight's Canadiens-Wild game (FSN).

NOTES: Sony Ericsson WTA Tour player Lindsay Davenport next week will serve as an analyst for Tennis Channel’s coverage of the season-ending Sony Ericsson Championships (ONTHEBASELINE.com, 10/28)….First Look Studios on November 18 will release the first UFC title on Blu-Ray Disc, “Ultimate Comebacks,” which features “more than four hours of footage” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 10/30).
