Manchester United Inks Deal With Swiss Watchmaker Hublot
English Premier League club Manchester United has signed a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with Switzerland-based watch manufacturer Hublot that makes the company the "official timekeeper" of the club, according to Kevin Feddy of the MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS. The four-year deal is believed to be worth less than US$16.3M, but it "underlines United's huge appeal as an international brand." Hublot, which produced the "official watches for Euro 2008 and has been involved in soccer for just two years," is the fourth sponsor to commit to the club since the start of the season, joining Saudi Telecom, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Budweiser (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 10/30). In Manchester, Matt Scott reports the deal will add US$6.52M "to United's bottom line over the next four years" (Manchester GUARDIAN, 10/30).
